A project by Anne Mourier in collaboration with Women around the globe.

During the Middle Ages, in 1630, the plague was devastating Venice.
Venetians were dying every day and people were scared.

A young women named Giovanna attempted something to prevent the plague from entering her neighborhood of Castello (the Venetian neighborhood where I currently live) to protect her children, loved ones, neighbors and herself.

She remembered the power of menstrual blood linked to the power of “giving life”.

She decided to sit while menstruating in the middle of the little Calle (street) leading to her neighborhood letting her blood soak the earth. The plague stopped right there and never entered her neighborhood. Another woman copied her in Cannaregio, and in turn stopped the plague.

Today these exact spots are recognizable because the Venetians embedded a red marble stone in the floor of the street.

Our world today is stricken by violence of all kinds… toward children, women, men, older people… I believe only women have the power to stop this.

I propose we raise an army of women who will sit somewhere relevant to them, in the daylight in a public place, in the moonlight in a dark forest, in their garden early morning… while they are menstruating (or if you stopped menstruating and want to feed the earth with your “white blood” you can definitely help too… remember the power of the Crone!)

The way you will participate to the project, our project to stop violence toward human beings, animals, the planet in general… together, is by feeding the earth with the life loving energy of your blood (or secretions) and sending me a photo of yourself during this action.

The photo can be taken by yourself or someone else, it can show your face or not. It just has to show you infusing the earth with love, sitting on the floor letting the soil drink your blood.

This website is a place to send your photos (anonymously or not) and inspire more women.

I will promote our actions. The word will go around… in a circle around the earth.

I hope you will be part of this,

Anne
